The cover drawing depicts three characters (presumably after Piradello's play of the same name) & the fourth character is a stick collage figure atached by a thread to the hand of on of the characters in the drawing. The drawing on the inside back cover depicts the place as a negative image where the stick collage figure originated on an abstract background with collaged phrases such as "The poet's soul was with me at the time, Breaking the silence," etc. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.
